January 11th/2022 – UPDATE

Yes, we are open!

UPDATE – We are operating at 50 percent capacity as stated by the modified Step 2 regulation set by the province. Please be aware that if we have reached capacity in store we will ask you to wait outside. As of this time our outside waiting area is not heated so please dress accordingly. Masks are required for in store shopping.

Newson’s is open to serve you, and we’re still doing all our usual things – but we’re also trying to respect the regulations and bylaws so everyone can stay as safe as possible. We are still primarily doing Curbside Service, but are letting some customers in store for certain things (i.e. looking at helmets & locks, trying on skates). We ask that you initially wait outside and only come in store if invited by an employee. We request that everyone wear a mask while in line and talking to a employee. If you’re looking to purchase a new bicycle we recommend that you look at our website as there will not be an assembled version of that bike available for you to view at our store.

Here’s what you can expect from us in the next little bit:

1.CURBSIDE SERVICE

-Curbside pickup is available! You can order and pay for things online through the website or, if you’d prefer, over the phone.

-Though we’re doing our best to put all our products online, not everything that we sell can be found on the website. If there’s something you need that you don’t see, feel free to call/email us and clarify whether or not it’s here!

2.SKATE SHARPENING

-We’ll come grab your skates & sharpen them, while you wait outside or in your car
-When they’re done, we’ll bring them to you (usually no longer than 15 or 20 minutes)

3.COMMUNICATION

-Still have questions? About anything? That’s okay! You can always call or email us here:

WELCOME! PLEASE COME PREPARED FOR YOUR SKATE-BUYING EXPERIENCE

1) ONLY the necessary people should be in the shop – example: the person who is purchasing the skates, or a child & one parent, etc.

2) Please come prepared! Know what you’re looking for from us and bring all necessary items for trying on skates – you MUST have your own SOCKS.

3) Be Aware that with current social distancing protocols we are not assisting with tying skates. However, we will answer whatever questions you may have and still endeavour to help as much as we can from a distance!

4) Please try to keep your visit to a minimum amount of time in store to be as efficient and safe as possible.

5) If you don’t feel comfortable trying on a skate in-store, or if it’s not convenient to bring in your child/children, that’s okay! You can take in the old skates from last year, and we’ll get you set up with the next size or a pair that we think will fit. If it doesn’t, no problem – you can come back and swap for one that will work better! Note: this is considerably more difficult for children over 12.

6) We are currently only allowing a certain amount of people in the store for COVID-19 safety. Please be aware that you may have to wait outside or in your car. Thank you so much for your patience!
